Seitsemän päivää Suomeen
Only one week remains until Solstice play three long-awaited shows in Finland, with support from pagan sons Cardinals Folly. Tickets have been selling fast across the tour, with venues already close to capacity and likely to sell out. Book in advance to avoid disappointment. For these dates we present an exclusive Finnish tourdate shirt in…

Cave of Wonder
With just over a week before Solstice fly out to Finland, and life outside the band likewise refusing to slow down; I take brief pause to reflect on a wonderful weekend in and around Balver Höhle. Prophecy Fest has always been a unique affair. Expertly curating an eclectic line-up of bands beyond the usual expectations…

Meet the Orphan
After many setbacks and scheduling conflicts, I am pleased to announce the start of live-action filming for my long-delayed sci-fi short / music video concept – ORPHAN. Initially approached by local band Dawn of Elysium for a simple lyric video, the scope of the project soon demanded greater ambition. A mini-movie invoking a grim future…

Trialed by Fire
It’s taken a few days to wind down and recover from the madness that was the Deströyer 666 mini-tour. A collaboration between promoters in Scotland and England, and one which came under fire from the first announcement. With both the headliners and Solstice running afoul of cancellation attempts and weaponised grudges, it wasn’t long before…

Kings Must Die
Attendees to the Compulsive Necrophilia UK tour were treated to an utterly electrifying performance by Pantheïst. Although I could only capture a fragment of final epic opus “Kings Must Die”, these eight and a half minutes reflect the captivating energy of their Progressive Funeral Doom.

The Right Time has Come
Had anyone asked at the start of the year if I would find myself sharing a stage with the legendary Arthur Brown, let alone sharing a record label, then I would have laughed heartily at such a suggestion. But it’s been a very strange year for SOLSTICE, one with too little laughter for my liking.…

Never Surrender!
Announcing a short run of UK shows for SOLSTICE this July. Heading out on the road with Australian anarchists DESTRÖYER 666 and London Black Metal heretics NECRO RITUAL, this line-up will lay waste to Glasgow and London on the 18th and 20th July. We headline an additional date in Stockport on the 19th with local…

Nymåne Fødelsdag
Wishing the very best of Birthdays to Valr Kjósa. Shadowmother, Stormcrow, and shaker of all things acoustic in Trismegistus Hex. As her special day falls upon the New Moon this year, we are reminded that Gemini season is definitely upon us. Reinforcing the themes of duality present in our work. Ever creative, Valr has recently…

To Dream among the Spires of the Earth
With two weeks to go until the annual Alpine pilgrimage to Neudegg Alm and the House of the Holy gathering, I reflect upon one of my rare dabbles into journalism. Back in 2017, the festival had changed. Previously known as ‘Funkenflug’, this year would have it renamed to the current form, and with it a…

Cult Italian Horror Metal!
A short video to promote the upcoming ‘Compulsive Necrophilia‘ tour, exhuming Italian Funeral Cultists ABYSMAL GRIEF into the UK this July. Main support for this leg will be from PANTHEÏST, with local Doom acts opening each bill. Together they’ll take in Bristol, Manchester and Brighton before the headliners return to Europe and onwards to Metal…

Eteenpäin Suomeen!
Veteran Finnish concert bookers Metal Warning will bring SOLSTICE to Suomi this September. Taking in Tampere, Turku, and Jyväskylä for an unforgettable weekend of Epic Heavy Metal and rampant ribaldry. Riding out for all three dates are deranged pagan sons Cardinals Folly, with local supports locking down in the months to come. We’re working on…

Impromptu Projections
While most folk were down in London for the big Black Metal shindig last weekend, I was back home in slightly cosier surrounds. Supporting local prog-goth rockers, (and old friends), Dawn of Elysium at the Lending Room in Leeds. As we’ve been working together on a sci-fi short film in recent months, I prepared some…
