It’s been a frantic few weeks pulling everything together for the MENTORS tour, with complete line-ups only secured as the New Year ticked into being. An exhausting endeavour, although I’m never one to back away from such challenge.
Given timing and circumstance, I knew this wouldn’t be an easy ride. Cancellations and complaints forced swift rescheduling, and inclement weather was always a concern. Despite these obstructions, the true test lies on the road ahead.
There’s always doubt and trepidation when organising tours, especially this close to the start of the year. Post-festive fatigue ails the gig-goer, and ticket sales have been likewise sluggish. Although we anticipate plenty of on-the-door custom, merch sales will be especially welcome!
Despite the sleepless nights and passionate panic, I’m happy to say it’s happening. With no small thanks to those who’ve helped arrange the tour, spread the word, and suggest suitable support acts. There’s a learning curve in all that matters, and I’m willing to work through the woes with the best of tutelage.
Most of the band are already in the country, and tomorrow morning I’m off to the airport to pick up the last before arcing into Hackney. Last chance to get some solid shuteye tonight, to prepare for a week of madness and merry mayhem with the Kings of Sleaze!
