Although Tour Management has taken up most of my time of late, progress continues on the sci-fi short / music video I’ve been working on. With the storyboard locked down and approved by the relevant people, I can now scout out suitable locations to film the real thing.
Located near Halifax, Allen Brickworks was established in the 19th Century by Henry Victor Allen, taking over previous works to manufacture bricks suitable for the high-temperature needs of the time.
The site shut down nearly a century later in the 1960s, but the buildings mostly remain. Nature encroaches as it must, but so does the technicolour sprawl of urban art. Bringing modernity to the broken remnants of the industrial age.
Sometimes referred to as the ‘Chernobyl of Yorkshire’, the ruins stand apart from time and space. An ideal location to capture the essence of cyberpunk blight.
As I look ahead to a year already busy, I’m excited to develop my ideas into the actual.
