“Eve bears the stigma of Original Sin.”

A parable of Faith and Treachery, XAVIER is a short film created over three days in April 2022 to accompany the Mythological Dark Folk of Wolcensmen. A haunting cover of the original by Dead Can Dance, I was inspired to visualise the emotional and spiritual resonance of the song with a familiar tale from the forest.

Although mostly stock footage, alongside some scenes shot around my locale, I feel the soul of the narrative is expressed with sincerity. These clips required much creative juxtaposition and adaption to the tropes and themes of folk horror, but they came together perfectly far in advance of schedule. No stranger to making mini-movies, this collaboration took my talents to a new level; and I am very proud of what we achieved in such a short time.
