Testimonials

Whether through good instincts or a strong understanding of the music and themes, Daryl hit the mark visually, and did so quickly. I would certainly trust Daryl to handle future film work for me, knowing that he strives to produce videos which complement the music faithfully.

DAN CAPP
Wolcensmen

Daryl is a consummate professional, utterly dedicated and a lifelong underground mainstay. Not only that, but he has a sense of humour and indecency to rival the lad Loki himself.

DAN EYRE
A Forest of Stars

When Witches Brew showed interest in releasing a music video for Canticle, Daryl was the first person who came to mind. He knew our music, we loved the previous clips he produced, and because of his knowledge in music, literature and arts.

He was capable of entering our world, and understanding it.

ORPHAN – Watch now!
HeathenStorm Productions, in association with Dawn of Elysium, presents ORPHAN. A fast-paced journey into the cyberpunk future of another time, ORPHAN tells the story of Jane Doe, played by actress Aida Knight in her screen debut. Isolated and wandering the urban dystopia, haunted by a lonely childhood, she is drawn towards a glossy corporate clinic. Specialists in ‘Temporal Therapy’, they promise to rewind her memory to the moment before her parents died, so she may relive life a different way… … but everything has a cost. Back in March, the entire second year of the Academy's Live Event Production course were assessed together across all disciplines. Tasked to put their fledgling talents to the test by collaborating on a video, lighting, and audio production with a live band. In this case, York-based melodic Metallers THESEUS. With song "As Above So Below" allocated for my Visual Design assessment, I helped design their video wall layout, additionally creating content and running the media server as they played. BPM SFX Demonstration Day – Academy of Live Technology
An experimental short film improvised over one weekend in February 2026 with the Academy of Live Technology's Postgraduate cohort, at the behest of visiting Multimedia Artist Diana Scarborough. (https://dianascarborough.co.uk/) A meditation on water, flowing around a spoken word performance by student Dami Olagbegi. Soundscape and Foley were recorded by underwater contact mics and hydrophone, with visuals created by filming a tray of pigmented water through an old-style desk projector. My part was to blend these elements together, along with separately supplied stock footage and a little alchemical flavour. Layering down a simple synth soundtrack to mix the recordings into form, and editing the video against an unyielding deadline. https://heathenstorm.com/2026/03/27/fluidity/
FLUIDITY (Experimental Short)
Around Midsummer 2023, I shoot some impromptu footage in Arnhem with my dancer friend Dayenne Neroli. Shelved for many years, it was later repurposed as promo reels for her performance at Occulture 2025 with the Esoteric Order of Ouroboros. Although originally shot in landscape, the switch to a phone-friendly portrait aspect didn't work out too bad. https://heathenstorm.com/2025/06/11/midsummer-comes-around/

    Bangkok Beheading

Last weekend saw DIOCLETIAN start their international tour with a bang. Joining Ross Bay Cult stalwarts Death Worship and Bloody Vengeance at God Beheading Live Ritual 2024 in Bangkok. With local bands on the bill, the gathering also brought in much anticipated artists from Singapore and Sri Lanka. Showcasing the very best of a region…

    One Month to Annhiliation

With four weeks remaining until DIOCLETIAN breach British shores, there have been a few revisions to the original sortie. The Bristol date has now SOLD OUT, assuredly offering a rammed night upstairs at The Gryphon. With other dates creeping close to capacity, the time to grab a ticket is now – before it’s too late.…

    A Weekend’s Grift with Darkher

Although I’m often to be found helping out local siren DARKHER in all my usual capacities, last weekend reminded me just why the music draws me in. The final dates of an intimate candlelit tour alongside GRIFT and CARCASS OF SIGHS, it fell to Stephen and Karen of The Velvet Sheep to handle merchandise and…

    Hails to the Half Million

HeathenStorm Productions offer hearty congratulations to Trivax for the success of their video clip from album opener Azrael (عزرائیل). An anti-authoritarian statement of intent, empowered by their experience of musical oppression in Iran and elsewhere. Energetically shot by Morbid Angle and released last July, it has already topped half a million views on YouTube. Drawing…

    Impromptu Projections

While most folk were down in London for the big Black Metal shindig last weekend, I was back home in slightly cosier surrounds. Supporting local prog-goth rockers, (and old friends), Dawn of Elysium at the Lending Room in Leeds. As we’ve been working together on a sci-fi short film in recent months, I prepared some…

    After the Manifestation

A worthy weekend was spent in the service of Subterranean Manifestation III; an uncompromising all-day assault of Death, Black and especially War Metal in the capital. With the show itself magnificently arranged by Subterranean Promotions, I was drafted in for the essential duty of delivering the artists to and from the airport and venue. Driving…

    London locked in

The lineup for the London show has locked in nicely, with kudos to Morbid Angle for curating such a barbaric bill. Joining DIOCLETIAN and TRIVAX on stage we have BLOOD CHALICE (FI) and GORGON VOMIT (UK). A stacked bill for a Tuesday, so make sure to turn up early for an evening of apocalyptic excess!…

    Nexian March

Much gratitude to the many promoters and venues who’ve already been in contact to take on this spring’s DIOCLETIAN UK tour. We’re reviewing the offers over the weekend and will get back in touch with everyone once we’ve hammered out the routing. In the meantime, an opening salvo from new album “Inexorable Nexus”, out this…

    My Week with the Mentors

This was never going to be an easy tour. Trouble started once the announcement was made, with a clandestine call to cancel one of the shows leaving me on the backfoot towards finding a replacement. Having support bands become less available than hoped also threw some surprises my way. With energies devoted to resolving the…

    The Reviews are In!

“No hate to Scream & Shake Horror Bar or Hot Pink Sewage, but mentors acted out of line tonight, flashed ass and pubes at an 18 year old, and laughed about it afterwards, and had to be told to piss off multiple times King’s of sleaze indeed, sleaze bags”
